NMN is a naturally occurring molecule chemically classified as a bioactive nucleotide. It is the precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and is the driving force behind the body's production of NAD+, an essential coenzyme involved in many biological processes.  Nicotinamide converts to NMN, which, in turn, converts to NAD+ upon entry into the body. 

NMN occurs in small amounts in a variety of animal and plant food sources, including broccoli, avocado, and cucumber. If food alone cannot provide an individual with sufficient NMN, supplementation may be necessary.
